Replacement for the Seville will make an arrival in the fall

The product renaissance continues for Cadillac with the release of the first image of its all-new 2005 STS model.
The fresh-from-the-ground-up STS is the seventh new vehicle to appear in the GM luxury brand's portfolio since 2001 and helps position the marque to compete among the best in the import-dominated luxury performance sedan segment. Spotted to replace the Seville in Cadillac's model lineup, the '05 STS pays close attention to detail in both the exterior and interior. Mirroring its recent predecessors, such as the XLR, SRX and CTS, the same signature design lines that define Cadillac's resurging image are evident on the new STS. Kip Wasenko, the car's designer, began with the angular and edgy design inspiration and then translated it into a more segment-appropriate language.
An all-new interior incorporates only genuine materials: eucalyptus wood, Nuance leather and real aluminum accents. The end result is a bold-stance sedan that sets itself apart from its segment rivals in both luxury and style.
Along with its sophisticated design, STS engine options include the proven performance of a standard 3.6-litre V6 VVT (also found in the CTS) or the renowned race-refined 4.6-litre Northstar V8. Numerous luxury appointments and innovative technologies should further enhance the driving experience, helping the STS strike the right blend between driving a luxury car and driving a sports sedan.
Set to make its first public appearance at the New York Auto Show in April, the 2005 STS is expected to hit the market during the third quarter of 2004.
The STS will be the third Sigma platform-based vehicle to come out of the automaker's Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Michigan. The CTS entry-level luxury sedan and the SRX luxury performance utility vehicle are currently in production at that facility.
