Your car is old when:
Top 10 ways to tell if your car is ready for retirement

Is your car looking a little the worse for wear? Has it seen better days? Is its dilapidated condition trying to tell you something? If you bought your car, truck or van new, the years might have slipped by almost without you noticing. But, as that old saying goes, the devil is in the details. If you need a little help in spotting them, here are 10 ways to clue you in on the reality that your vehicle is ready for replacement.
You know your car is old when:
10. It has a "Mel Lastman for Mayor" bumper sticker on it.
9. Your fuzzy dice hanging from the rearview mirror aren't fuzzy any more.
8. It has an eight-track tape player.
7. You find a Blue Jays ticket stub from opening day at Exhibition Stadium.
6. The Franklin Institute opens an antique exhibit - your car is featured.
5. You hold your breath every time you try to start it. Everyone else holds their breath as you pass, swathed in a cloud of blue smoke.
4. To avoid stalling you don't make a complete stop at traffic signals … and the fact that the brake pedal goes to the floor only helps make it easier to accomplish.
3. Your favourite memories of your car are at the drive-in … but you can't remember whom you were there with.
2. The only way into your car is through the passenger side door.
And the No. 1 sign your car is old:
1. You got your car loan from a bank that really cared about obtaining your business.
If your car fits this description, perhaps it's time to pay a little more attention to the pages in each issue of Megawheels and pick out a shiny new successor.
